2 arrested over senseless and violent attack on Bolton teen 15

Two men have been arrested over a 'senseless and violent attack' on a 15-year-old boy in Great Lever.

The teenager was attacked while in an area near Settle Street, Great Lever, between 7.30pm and 8pm yesterday.

Police became aware of the attack when they were called to the Royal Bolton Hospital at 11.15pm the same day.

He sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Enquiries are ongoing and a 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

A 20-year-old male has also been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence. They both remain in custody.

Detective Sergeant Dominic Beaver of GMP's Bolton district, said: รข€œWe are following all available lines of enquiry to ensure the person responsible for this senseless and violent attack is brought to justice.

The Bolton News:

A police cordon was put up late last night according to local residents.

One on Rupert Street, opposite the cordon, told The Bolton News: "We didn't see anything last night but just looked outside this morning it was there.

"it is the last thing you expect to see.

"My 10-year-old is out around here playing all time going up there to my mum's so it's very scary to see this right outside."

A police cordon was in place for the majority of today.
