Bolton firefighters tackle Bonfire Night blazes in Farnworth and Atherton
FIREFIGHTERS from Bolton and beyond were out in force over the course of Bonfire Night yesterday evening.
The annual celebration is one of the biggest nights of the year for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, with 232 incidents dealt with across the city region on the evening of November 5 and into the early hours of November 6.

These included an "out of control bonfire" at a house in Farnworth and a wheelie bins set on fire in Atherton.
Greater Manchester Fire Service reported both of the incidents as part of a round-up of their activities at around 7.30pm on Friday evening.

No one was injured in either incident, which firefighters were able to quickly bring under control as the evening unfolded.
Later that evening, firefighters from Bolton Central and Farnworth stations were called to a home to reports that people were setting of fireworks in the backyard.
Firework displays were held all over the city region
The incident was reported at around 8.30pm.
Again, no injuries were reported but fire crews took the opportunity to remind local residents to follow the fireworks code.
